A collective trauma is a traumatic psychological effect shared by a group of people of any size, up to and including an entire society .Traumatic events witnessed by an entire society can stir up collective sentiment, often resulting in a shift in that societys culture and mass actions . Collective traumas have been shown to play a key role in group identity formation. Examples of contemporary collective traumas include tsunami, terrorist attacks, buffalo creek disaster, Bhopal gas leakage, Gujarat earthquake, etc.
Objectives :
To examine collective traumas around the world. To know about the role that culture plays in shaping the experience of collective trauma. To systematically study the relationship between self-efficacy beliefs and psychological as well as somatic outcomes of collective trauma events. To know about the effect of collective trauma on the individual and the social life of the individual.
Hypothesis :
Collective trauma disturbs the social order of individual in the society and resultant is that the individuals find themselves caught between society and its social obligation.
Method Of Study :
The research work utilizes doctrinal method of data collection i.e through secondary sources , obtained after compiling the works already done according to their relevance to the topic .
