org, and was emailed to the Times-Call. 4:30 P.M.: Friday, September 13 Dear Parents and Guardians: As you know, the recent storm has caused significant damage to towns and neighborhoods throughout the St. Vrain Valley. I want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to assess the condition of our buildings and make plans to reopen schools. I also want to thank you for the wonderful consideration you have shown through your messages of support and countless offers of assistance. I along with our administrators, teachers, and staff deeply appreciate your caring and concern. Due to significant damage done to roads, access ways, the power grid and other impacts from this very serious storm, all St. Vrain schools and related activities will be closed/canceled through Wednesday, September 18. We tentatively plan to reopen schools on Thursday, September 19, with the exception of Lyons Elementary and Lyons Middle/Senior High. Because the storm destroyed all access roads to the town of Lyons, we are assessing the situation in collaboration with emergency responders and actively developing a plan to continue school for these students. This weekend, I will provide a separate communication with additional information to the parents and guardians of our Lyons students. Finally, this is a very difficult time and there are many throughout our entire St. Vrain community who have been severely impacted. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Take care, and if you have any pressing questions please feel free to contact us at 303-682-7404. Sincerely, Don Haddad, Ed.D., Superintendent of Schools Twitter: @SVVSDsupt
