LANDSCAPE IRRIGATION CAREER LADDER

LANDSCAPE IRRIGATION WORKER Perform basic manual labor, i.e. dig and fill in trenches with pick and shovel, move materials with wheel barrel, etc. Follow basic directives. Handle dangerous tools. LANDSCAPE IRRIGATION CREW LEADER Interact with Englishspeaking clients and homeowners. Solve problems. Ability to drive with license and clean driving record. Ability to read a set of landscape plans. Knowledge of common acceptable irrigation installation practices. Accept criticism and direction. Handle conflict with customers. LANDSCAPE IRRIGATION SUPERVISOR Manage 2-3 crews. Check the work of all jobs managed. Know local building codes and water ordinances. Ability to work in high pressure environment under deadline. Handle pressure and conflicts. Control emotions. Communicate calmly. Understand and fill out forms and reports. High organizational skills required. LANDSCAPE IRRIGATION SUPERINTENDANT Manage supervisors. Help owners with business plan, forecasting sales, cost savings, efficiency. Make sure material and human resources are available. Plan, inspect, and audit job sites. Ability to generate irrigation schedules and program weather based irrigation controllers. LANDSCAPE IRRIGATION COMPANY OWNER Market business. Secure funds. Envision and articulate strategic vision and plan. Manage finances with CPA. Manage insurances, benefits, and liabilities. Attend trade conventions to keep up with current practices and products.
