Schilling Robotics LARS: Telescoping A-Frame

The HD launch and recovery system is available with an optional telescoping A-frame that provides a longer overboard reach and improved on-deck system handling compared to a standard A-frame. This concept does not rely on the ROV system passing between the A-frame legs, resulting in width compliance to EU unescorted road transportation requirements.

When combined with the winch and HPU, the overall LARS system is capable of deploying the HD in up to 4,000msw in Seastate 6 [c. Hs 4.25] conditions from typical drill rig or vessel launch positions. The telescoping A-frame has a very compact footprint. When combined with the matching HD umbilical winch, an overhead right angle levelwind mechanism, it provides extremely efficient use of deck space.
