ANGLES

IN TRIANGLES A triangle is a simple convex polygon with three sides. Classification of Triangles According to Sides Equilateral Isosceles Scalene According to Angles Acute Obtuse Right An isosceles triangle is a triangle with at least two congruent sides. The angles opposite the congruent sides are known as the base angles and the remaining angle is called the vertex angle.

An exterior angle of a polygon is an angle formed when one of the sides of a polygon is extended.

The angle opposite the longest side is the largest angle, while the angle opposite the shortest side is the smallest angle. Angle Sum of Triangles The sum of all the interior angles of a triangle is 180o. Example: Solve for x.

The measure of an exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of its interior opposite angles. Example: Suppose we have triangle ABC and side BC is produced to D. Solve for x.

Solve for the value of the unknowns.
