2 Bijak Thursday / 11.35-12.35 p.m Reading /31 World Of Stories 2.1 Pupils will be able to apply knowledge or sound of letter to recognize words in linear and non-linear texts 2.2 Pupils will be able to demonstrate understanding of variety of linear and non- linear text in the form of print and non-print materials using a range of strategies to construct meaning. 2.1.1 Able to recognise and articulate initial, medial and the final sound in single syllable words within given context 2.1.2 Able to blend phonemes into recognizable words and read the aloud By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: (i) Circle the words with the /oo/ sound (ii) Read a text with guidance
Learning Standard:
Objective:
Activity 1. Teacher writes /oo/ phoneme and ask the pupils to sound it. Pupils should answer it with an action
Notes Pupils should make an action as : Short vowel sound /oo/ - Pupils place the hands above head, tap once and say u Long vowel sound /oo/ - Pupils place hands above head, shake their head and say u Picture card - Moon, school , roof, rooster, moody, hook stool, food
2. Teacher asks pupils to sit in their groups. - Teacher show the picture to pupils according to the groups and they have to gives name of the picture
3. Teacher distribute a text to pupils Pupils read the text with teacher guidance Pupils point to the text while reading
Reinforcement 4. Teacher show the word cards to pupils and ask them to pronounce it correctly - Teacher points to the group randomly and ask pupils to pronounce the words Practice and reinforcement 5. Pick a few pupils and ask them to hold the word cards. Each groups would be given with five word cards and teacher call out three words out of five Teacher say out the words and pupils with respective word cards come forward and stand side by side Practice 6. Based on the text given teacher ask pupils to circle the words with /oo/ sound Observation Assessment Pupils complete a worksheet by circle the words.
