Primary
1. Interface that displays the 9x9 style sudoku grid and allows for manipulation by the following methods: altering values in individual boxes highlighting rows highlighting columns highlighting 3x3 grids within the larger grid removing highlights

2. The new system must enable the player to play more than one game per day. 3. The new system must be usable on a home computer or laptop.

Secondary
4. The system could incorporate a hint giving mechanism, this mechanism should give hints by: highlighting correctly filled squares. filling a square for the player (the filled square, whilst a useful hint to the player must be the least helpful hint to solving the puzzle). 5. The new system should allow the player to save and load puzzles, in addition to generating brand new puzzles.

Tertiary
6. The new system could incorporate multiple difficulty levels for the player to choose from. This difficulty should be derived from the number of squares filled upon the puzzle's creation. 7. The new system should involve user friendly visuals. 8. The displayed grid could clearly indicate which squares were filled at the puzzle's creation, the values in these squares must not be changeable.
