    the probability that A will alive and the probability that B will alive after 10 year are independent events 1) probability that both will die after 10 years = ( 1 - 5/7)(1-7/9) = 4 / 63 2) probability that A will alive and B dead = 5/7 ( 1 - 7/9) = 10/63
