Yonkers nonprofit to host TEDxYonkers conference Sept.

20 at riverfront library

YONKERS -- A local nonprofit will host a new TEDxYonkers conference focused on helping good things happen in Yonkers Sept. 20 at the riverfront library. The event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. is timed to coincide with a lives-stream of TEDs City2.0 conference about urban revitalization to be held in Manhattan that day, organizers said. The Sept. 20 TEDxYonkers will be the first in a quarterly series of events aimed at fostering creative conversations about how to strengthen Yonkers communities. The Yonkers event is sponsored by the local nonprofit Community Governance and Development Council, law firm Wilson + Associates, and real estate firm NAI Friedland.
