    Beingcraniallyblessedhasmeantmoststoreboughthatswillnotfit.Evenwhenlargersizesare available, they often fit far too snugly to be comfortable especially withmyhair.Makinghatshas become the only real option, but making myown toppers hasalsoallowedmetheopportunityto indulgemylifelongfascinationwithcomplementaryandsplitcomplementarycolours. I knit 24 (as in inches, 60.96cm just doesnt havethesame ring) whileworkingoutagenerichat formula for bigheadedme.I wantedsomethingroomyfor my hair andcomfortableformyhead.I used Spud & Chloes Sweater, one of my favourite yarns with 24 taking approximately half of each skein.     Sizing note This hat will fit a 24 (61cm)headwithabitofease,itfits my head and chin length dreads quite comfortably. Should you require a smallersizejustdecrease the appropriate stitches remembering 4sts equal approximately 1 (but do a swatch tocheckgauge).

    NOTE: I worked the stripes so each subsequent pair of stripes was one row wider than the pair proceeding. I toyed with working the stripes in reverse order, thatistosayredstripe4rows,bluestripe 8 rows, red stripe 5 rows, blue strip 7 rows,etc.
