Treatment:
Foot massage: The massage is applied to liver (18), gallbladder (19), stomach (15), duodenum (16) and lymph nodes (upper body, 39) reflecting areas, or kidney (22), ureter (23) and urinary bladder (24) reflecting areas for cholecystitis caused by gallstones (Fig. 101).
Foot acupuncture:
(1) Meridianal acupoints: At Zuqiaoyin (GB 44), Diwuhui (GB 42) and Zulinqi (GB 41) acupoints, a reducing acupuncture technique is applied and the needles are retained for 30 to 60 minutes. (2) Extra acupoint: A reducing acupuncture technique is applied at Quchi (EX-F 10) acupoint and the needle is retained for 30 minutes. (3) Foot acupoint: A strong acupuncture stimulation is applied at Liver (FA-P 9) acupoint and the needle is reatained for 20 minutes.
