Capital And Climate


Hyderabad which is the capital of Andhra Pradesh is one of the most developed cities in the country than Mumbai. Climatic: Tropical Wet and Dry Temperature: 25 - 40 degrees Celsius. Annual precipitation: About 60 cm.

Twin Cities
Hyderabad and Secunderabad are the twin cities separated by the famous Hussain Sagar now popularly known as Tank Bund

Language
Telugu is the state's official language.

Places of Interest
One of the most famous temples, Triupati is in Tirumala in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Charminar
Charminar is a major landmark in the city of Hyderabad. Built by Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah in 1591

Salar Jung Museum


Salar Jung Museum, features a varied collection of sculptures, paintings, and religious artifacts It is the third largest Museum in India

Birla Temple
Build by the Birlas on a hillock dedicated it to Lord Balaji Made of marble

Golconda Fort
Golconda fort is one of the most magnificent fortress complex in India which lies on the outskirts around 11km from Hyderabad. Was once famous for its mines of diamond The famous Kohinoor diamond came from Golconda

Nagarjuna Sagar Dam


It is one of the tallest masonry dams in the world

The excavated remains of the Buddhist civilization have been reconstructed and are carefully preserved at Nagarjunakonda, a unique Island museum, situated in the midst of the man-made Nagarjunasagar lake, which is the third largest man made lake in the world.

SHOPPING
Pearls and handicraft items like glass bangles are available for bargain prices, especially in the shopping areas of Charminar in Hyderabad

Cuisine
Hyderabadi cuisine has a Mughalai flavour. The Hyderabadi biriyani is good dining. Rice is the staple food everywhere in the state with sambar Dosa is generally eaten for breakfast. Andhra cuisine is largely vegetarian unlike the Hyderabadi food. Seafood like fish and prawns is taken with rice in coastal areas. Snack time is vada or idli with sambar.
