Southern California Edison Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project


Segment 11B - Gould Substation to Goodrich Substation
About the Project - As part of the Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project (TRTP), Southern California Edison (SCE)
contractors will begin the installation of new electrical transmission wire (conductor) for Segment 11B. This portion of the project spans approximately 9 miles from Gould Substation in La Canada-Flintridge to the Goodrich Substation in Pasadena, along SCEs right-of-way corridor. Upon completion, the Tehachapi project will provide added capacity to deliver enough power from renewable and other generators to power three million homes, helping enhance electricity reliability in the region and help meet Californias renewable energy goals.

Construction Period: June 15, 2013 through December 31, 2013, Monday through Saturday between 7 am to 7 pm
Authorization will be obtained for work to be conducted on Sunday or for extended work hours.
(Please note that the construction schedule may change depending on weather and other factors)

Location: The construction activities for Segment 11B will occur within the cities of La Canada-Flintridge and Pasadena, the unincorporated community of Altadena, and the Angeles National Forest in Los Angeles County.
Construction Activities:
n n n n n n n Operation of construction equipment, vehicles, helicopters, and helicopter support yards Installation of conductor (wire) using helicopter equipment Installation of tower/pole structure near Goodrich Substation Vegetation removal/grubbing Clearing and grubbing for access roads and site preparation, and of wire set up sites Installation, maintenance, and removal of temporary guard structures at street and trail crossings to enhance safety during construction Install or replace access gates
