Allen Avenue UU Church Neighboring Faiths 2013-14 Field Trip to Quaker Meeting October 20, 2013

Time table (this is tentative and subject to change): 9:45 Meet at church, 524 Allen Avenue, Portland, in Memorial Room youth and parents Assign carpools, make sure we have all permission slips etc. 10:00 Leave from church parking lot to drive to Portland Friends Meeting House 10:15 arrive, get oriented 10:30 Attend adult Quaker Meeting for half an hour with their youth group 11:00 Go upstairs and meet with their youth group, have a conversation about faiths, meet and chat 12:00 Leave and drive back to Allen Avenue UU church 12:30 Arrive back at church Where do we go? The Portland Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) 1837 Forest Avenue, Portland, 207- 797-4720 More info and directions: http://www.portlandfriendsmeeting.org/ The Friends Meeting House is located on outer Forest Avenue, on the right side (going outbound) immediately past the Maine Turnpike overpass and the turn-off to the Hannaford store, and immediately before Tortilla Flats restaurant, and before the intersection with Riverside Street. From church, we will take Allen Avenue across Washington Ave. to Forest Ave., turn right and follow the above directions. Make sure you have permission slips filled out and given to the DRE by then. If you plan to come but cannot stay for the duration of the event, please drive in your own car and leave with your child when you need to.
