CHILDREN MAY BE WISER THAN THEIR ELDERS

PLOT
A plot is the main sequence of events in a story. A plot can also be chartered on a line graph. The plot in the story comprises of exposition, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution.

PLOT DIAGRAM

EXPOSITION
Malasha and Akulka went down to the edge of the pool. At first, Malasha was afraid to go in the pool. Malasha calm her down and ask Malasha to join her in the pool.

CONFLICT
Malasha walked roughly and gave a great stamp which splashed to all over Akulka frock and her face. Akulka was infuriated and almost slap Malasha. Malasha fled to her home. Akulkas mother get angry when she saw Akulka in her muddy frock. Akulkas mother become angry when she find out the story from her daughter and she hit Malasha.

CLIMAX
Akulkas mother heard her daughter cries and scold Malashas mother for hitting her daughter. The two women curses and oaths to each others at the street that make all the neighbour come out from their house to watch the scene.

FALLING ACTION
o Akulkas grandmother hear the quarreling and she come out to settle down the problem by saying that it is bad to spend Easter by quarreling. o She failed to calm down the two mothers.

RESOLUTION
At that moment, Akulka had dried and wiped her frock and had come out again to the pool. When Malasha saw Akulka at the pool, she comes out and play there together. They danced along beside their rivulet, straight into the middle of the crowds. When Akulkas grandmother saw the two kids playing together again, she scold the two mothers for being so childish.
