Reading helps children develop language skills. When they read books, they learn new things and knowledge. The more a child reads, the greater his/her interest in developing the habit. Reading allows children to express themselves better and to be more confident in terms of writing and speaking. For those who have been reading since they were young, they would say that it helped them mentally and spiritually. It helped them socialize with more confidence. Reading also helps children develop longer attention span which is crucial for learning. It helps children to concentrate better. Apart from that, reading is an exercise to the mind as how a physical activity is to the body. (Adapted from Strategik KBSM form 2)
