Dear Chairman Obey:

I am requesting funding for a Microwave ring between Franklin, Patrick and Henry Counties
and the City ofMartinsville for Public SafetylE911 Voice and Data 1nteroperability in fiscal year
2010. The entity to receive funding for this project is the County of Franklin, VA, located at 40
East Court Street, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. The funding would be used to streamline and
provide for interoperability for public safety communications (fire, policy, emergency) among
Franklin County, Patrick County, Hemy County, and the City of Martinsville. These public
safety improvements are necessary to make the community an attractive location for
professionals and families to locate. I certify that I do not have any financial interest in this
project.
