    Dear Chairman Obey and Ranking Member Lewis:

    I am requesting funding for Middle School Drug and Safety Prevention Project in fiscal year 2010.

    The entity to receive funding for this project is :


    D.A.R.E. New Jersey, Inc.
    292 Prospect Plains Road
    Cranbury, NJ 08512

    The funding would be used for Implementation of the new D.A.R.E. Middle School/Junior High
    School Program, "Keepin' It Real". This is a model substance abuse prevention education
    program on the SAMSHA National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices
    (NREPP). This project will benefit school aged youth in grades 7-9 and serve 18,000 students.
