    I am requesting funding for the 800 MHz Base Infrastructure Radio Expansion in fiscal yea r 2010.

    The funding would be used for the purchase and installation of software upgrades to expand
    the interoperability of the current $25 million communications system, to enable th e radios to
    work on additional spectra beyond the 800 MHz band .
