I am requesting funding for Oyster Restoration in fiscal year 2010 .

NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office
410 Severn Avenue
Annapolis, MD 21403

This funding will support native oyster restoration in both the Maryland and
Virginia portions of the Chesapeake Bay . Oysters are a key component of the
Bay ecosystem, serving as substrate for underwater fish habitat, pollution filtering
for the Bay, and as one of the region's most important fisheries .
