In HW#2, optional bonus problem although the circuit is in steady state but for inductor resistance =0 and for

Duty cycle >14/42 the current in inductor continues to build up which causes instability in circuit. For D>14/42 Consider D=15/42, during first cycle of operation for Ton time the current in the inductor rises from zero to 0.9988 A, during Toff the current in the inductor drops from 0.9988 A to 0.09982 A.(Small error of 0.89A) During second cycle of operation the current in inductor rises from 0.09982 to 1.0997 and during Toff the current drops from 1.0997 to 0.19964 A. (error in inductor current 0.9002 A) During third cycle cycle of operation the current in inductor rises from 0.19964 to 1.19952 and during Toff the current drops from 1.19952 to 0.29946 A. (error in inductor current 0.9006 A) In short for any cycle the final value of inductor current during Toff is not equal to the initial value of current during Ton. Hence , this error in inductor current continuous to build up which causes large average value of inductor current and input current.

For D<14/42 For any value of D <14/42 the inductor and input current will drop continuously.

For D=14/42

For D=14/42 , the final value during Toff state is equal to the initial value during Ton state. Hence circuit is stable for this value of D.
