Dear Chainnan Obey and Ranking Member Lewis:

I am requesting funding for the Fountain Avenue After School Program in fiscal year
2010. The entity to receive funding for this project is the Fountain Avenue Community
Development Corporation located at 85 Fountain Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11208.
These funds will be used to create an after- school program in collaboration with the East
New York High School of Transit Technology. This innovative program will offer
tutoring, homework help and infonnative workshops on various social issues that will
improve the academic, social and emotional competence of at-risk teens, reduce negative
youth behaviors, reduce the threat of school violence and provide parents with a safe
after-school environment for their teenagers. I certify that neither I nor my spouse has
any financial interest in this project.

Sincerely,

Edolp us "Ed" Towns
