Dear Chairman Obey:

I am requesting funding for the Clean Slate Clinic for Community Re-entry &
Reintegration for fiscal year 2010. The entity to receive funding is East Bay
Community Law Center, located at 2921 Adeline Street, Berkeley, CA 94703. The
funding will be used to provide legal information and assistance at the Alameda
County Courthouse Self-Help Center to people with non-violent criminal records.
The goal of the project is to reduce recidivism and promote societal reintegration
by removing civil barriers to jobs, education, housing, and civic participation for
people who have paid their debt to society. I certify that I have no financial
interest in this project.
