    Dear Mr. Chairman:

    I am requesting funding in fiscal year 2010 for conullunity outreach and engagement
    initiatives aimed at high-risk, low-income minority youths. The entity to receive funding
    for this project is the Boston Urban Youth Foundation, located at P .O. Box 1545 in
    Boston, MA 02130. The funding would be used to partner with local law enforcement
    through the Building Futures Educational Initiative to reduce truancy and absenteeism
    which leads to poor academic performance and school dropouts. I certify that neither I
    nor my spouse has any financial interest in this project.
