Dear Chairman Obey and Ranking Member Lewis:

Thank you for your leadership on the Appropriations Committee.

I am requesting funding for the California Bay Watershed Education and Training (B-WET)
Program in fiscal year 2010. The entity to receive funding for this project is the National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Office of Education, located at 299 Foam Street,
Monterey, CA 93940. The funding would be used to for a competitive grant program to increase
environmental stewardship and appreciation of the watershed and marine environment through
environmental education for students, teachers and communities in specific watersheds. I certify
that neither I nor my spouse has any financial interest in this project.

Thank you for your consideration of this request. I look forward to working with you as the
appropriations process moves forward.
