The captive
Arrange the sentences in the best order to tell a story.
1. A young English boy was separated from his parents and went missing
after a ship sank in a storm off the coast of Africa.
2. Years later, an explorer who was just back from Africa, told them about a
fair haired young man who was living in the jungle.
3. The couple decided it may have been their son so they went to Africa and
found him after a long search.
4. After the ship wreck, the boys parents searched for their son without any
luck.
5. When the young man got to the house he stopped at the door.
6. Without a seconds pause, he put his arm up the chimney by the oven, and
drew out a small knife he had hidden there as a boy.
7. The young man did not understand English but he agreed to be taken back
to his old house in England.
8. Then all of a sudden he let out a cry and ran into the kitchen
How do you think the story ends? Does the man stay in England or does he
return to his adopted family.
