1. A person chosen to settle the issue between parties engaged in a dispute.
APPOINTMENT OF ARBITATOR
If the party claiming arbitration (known as the Claimant) wishes to have a sole arbitrator, then before the time limit in the rules for claiming arbitration expires, they write to the other party seeking their agreement to the appointment of a sole arbitrator. If the parties agree to the appointment of a sole arbitrator, the Association will appoint an arbitrator on receipt of the first set of submissions
(2) The board is responsible for the assignment of arbitrators to arbitration hearings. The selection and assignment of arbitrators is not subject to the approval of either party. (3) Arbitrators must not have a personal interest in the outcome of any hearing, nor be acquainted with any of the participants except as such acquaintance may occur in the hearing process, nor hold any prejudice toward any party
