Incident # 13-032859 Date: Oct 02, 2013 Released by: Capt Scott McClory Type: Motorcycle Fatality Time: 1:00pm Contact Person: Capt McClory Narrative A Lyons man has died this morning at 2:15am following a motorcycle crash that occurred on Sept 29, 2013, in Walworth County. The deceased is identified as Josh Tauscher, age 25. On Sunday, September 29, 2013, approximately 6:23pm, Tauscher was attempting to enter Hwy 50 eastbound, from South Road in the Town of Lyons. Tauscher struck a Pick-Up Truck and trailer that was in the southern lane of Hwy 50, also eastbound. Tauscher initially hit the truck, was ejected off the motorcycle, and struck the trailer before coming to rest in the roadway. Tauscher was taken by ground ambulance to Burlington Memorial Hospital before he was flown by Flight For Life to a Milwaukee-area hospital with critical injuries. Tauscher was pronounced dead on October 2, 2013 at 2:15am. Tauscher was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be contributing factors to this crash at this time. The Walworth County Crash Investigation Unit was summoned to the scene and this case remains open.
