    Look at these sentences: I used to go to the country every weekend with my granny. I used to be a barman in a disco in Leeds. Are the sentences referring to the past or the present? Is the first sentence referring to an action that happened only once or a repeated action? Look at the verb in the second sentence. Is it a verb of action or a state? Does it refer to a short time or a longer period of time? So used to means.?
