RECOMMENDATION Administration presents this report for information and furthermore Administration recommends that Council provide direction on the 2013 budget parameters for the Taxi Pass Program. BACKGROUND The Town of Peace River has been operating the Taxi Pass Program for a full year, since the change to a more enhanced system. The changes expanded the criteria for access to the program, thus allowing a broader segment of the community to participate. The program continues to receive applications on a regular basis. Therefore, we anticipate the program to continue to expand. Staff collects feedback and comments on the program throughout the year. In 2012 there have been only 2 documented comments on the use of cash and the taxi card, where the client was using their cards to cover the cash requirement of the trip. Staff informed the clients of the process for using cash and a card, which has rectified the issue with the clients. The following is the current statistics of the program. BUDGET IMPLICATIONS The proposed 2013 Budget includes an increase to both the revenues and expenditures, based on the 2012 actual. However, Administration would recommend increasing the program expenses to $120,000 to adjust for the continuous growth of the program. Respectfully submitted; Reviewed by;
