Teaching Aids Reflection


In class, it is necessary to use teaching aids for a better learning. These teaching aids are not just anything or something you use just to add some colors in your class or decoration. Instead, these stuffs have its vital role in teaching. The creation and production of every teaching aid will primarily base on the lesson to be discussed. And of course we should not tend to forget to consider our learners in making these aids. It must be planned well that the aid will be aligned to the lesson as well as fit to the students learning needs and styles. In our created teaching aids, these are the things needed to supplement the teachers discussion on area of a square. We should bear in mind that using teaching aids do not demand that it should me many. Few are enough if you think it really conveys learning and eventually effective. In our case, we chose video presentation the most for it can really arouse the interest the students as it is a visual plus audio aid. Also we created a traditional aids using Manila paper and cut squares for their activity. Using these types of teaching aids, it does not only exercise their intellectual skills but also their kinesthetic skill as a response to the given activity. We assumed that by the help of the above mentioned materials regardless of the number, it will benefit both the teacher and learner. It helps the teacher to make his or her presentation of lessons clear and make the lessons easier and more understandable to the students. Indeed, teaching aids should not be the same. It should be diverse so that it can cater learning that suit to all students who are also diverse.
