Maya, a fresh graduate, joining ABC Pvt. Ltd., is looking forward to learn and is very excited about her first job. She is self motivated and money does not affect her dedication towards the job. Few days into the job and Maya realises that her coworkers engage in politics and groupism; and her Boss the HR Manager Mr. Menon feels incapacitated do to anything to fix the situation. The work environment suffocates Maya. She continues to work there for a year and when she gets a better prospect, she could not be happier about leaving behind the organisation.

Theories: a. Theory of self self-control Maya is self motivated and because of the excitement to learn at her job makes her intrinsically motivated. Money does not affect her dedication at work. b. Equity Theory Mr. Menon has no empowerment for the position he holds. Has reduced the input by the other employees Maya is not engaged with the organisation Co-workers are so extrinsically motivated that they have lost interest in working at all.
