RECEIVER HARDWARE CONSIDERATIONS

This chapter discusses the front end of a GPS receiver. The antenna should have a broad beam to receive signals from the zenith to the horizon. It should be right handed circularly polarized to reduce reflected signals.

AMPLIFIERS
They are the active elements that increase the received signal. Given the low level of this, the amplification of the RF chain of a GPS receiver has to perform an amplification of at least 100 dB.
