Theme: World of Knowledge Topic: Food Learning Standard: 1.3.

1 Able to demonstrate understanding of oral texts by: (a) asking and answering questions Objective: By the end of lesson, pupils should be able to answer at least four out of five oral questions correctly. Time: 60 minutes Teaching Aids: Picture cards, menu, realia, a sample of dialogues. CCE/EE: Entrepreneurship

Activities: Set induction: 1. Teacher gets pupils to smell and guess the mystery food hidden in the box shown by the teacher. 2. Pupils talk about the food available in the box. E.g.: 1. What is in the box? 2. Where can you find the food? 3. Have you ever eat it before? 4. Do you like it? 5. Do you like the smell?

Presentation: 1. Teacher shows a menu of different kinds of food to the pupils. 2. Teacher puts up a sample of dialogues between a waiter and a customer in a restaurant. E.g : Waiter : Can I have your order, please? Customer: I would like to have ______.

3. Teacher demonstrates the scene in the restaurant.

Practise: 1. Teacher calls pupils randomly to act out the scene. Production: 1. Teacher divides the pupils in groups of five. 2. Teacher gets pupils to do the role play in groups. Closure: 1. Teacher summarizes todays lesson by getting pupils to name all the food that have been discussed.
