Friday 9/6: Open Lab

Research Context: A researcher was interested in the reaction of 3-yearold children to an aggressive act toward them performed by another child. Five kids were brought into the lab (one child at a time). Each child was placed in a room for a few minutes of free play-time with another child who was a little older, say, 5 years old. While the child was playing, the researcher asked his/her parent to rate how aggressive the child was on a scale from 1(not at all) to 7(very). The older child playing with the subject was actually a confederate working with the researcher and had been instructed to physically take away whatever the subject was playing with near the end of play-time. The researcher then moved the subject child to his/her own room with a BoBo doll (and not much else to play with). The researcher then counted the number of times the child hit the BoBo doll.
