    The City of Tacoma is hosting a ceremonial tree planting event to honor Arbor Day and celebrate the Hilltop Diversitree project. Mayor Marilyn Strickland, Councilmember Lauren Walker, and Commissioner Peter Goldmark will attend the event where over 200 street trees will be planted in the Hilltop Business District. The City encourages residents to attend the event on October 11th at People's Park to help beautify the community and recognize Tacoma's efforts to support urban forestry as a Tree City USA.

    The City of Tacoma invites all residents to join Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland, Tacoma Councilmember Lauren Walker

    and the Washington Commissioner of Public Lands Peter Goldmark to honor Arbor Day with a ceremonial tree planting. Its Tacomas 19th year as a Tree City USA community, 10th year as a Tree Line USA community and the sixth year that the City has received a Growth Award from the Arbor Day Foundation. This event will center around a very special street tree project Hilltop Diversitree. Please join us to celebrate; more than 200 street trees will soon be planted in the Hilltop Business District.
