(828) 243-7160 Putnam.Leslie@gmail.com Teaching Artist Experience Young Performers Workshop: Teacher/Choreographer Wayside Theatre (September 2012 April 2013) Weekly Musical Theatre Dance class for ages ranging from 8-16. Students learn basic musical theatre style dance and song through warm ups and technique exercises. A performance of a choreographed and staged musical theatre piece was performed at the end of the 6 week class. Youth Ensemble Stage Summer Camp: Coordinator Wayside Theatre (July August 2013) Lead teacher of the summer camp held at Wayside Theatre. Coordinated daily 9am-3pm schedule of teaching 15-20 children in attendance at each of the 2 week summer camps. Youth Ensemble Stage Summer Camp: Teacher/Director Wayside Theatre (July- August 2013) Taught and directed the 7-11 year old class at Y.E.S. Summer Camp. Assessed reading levels and theatre abilities of each child in the class, chose plays based on those assessments, casted, directed, and produced two One Act childrens plays in the two week time span of each summer camp. Young Ambassadors Guild Production of The Tempest: Choreographer Wayside Theatre (February April 2013) Choreographed and staged dance numbers in Wayside Theatres Educational production of The Tempest. Once on this Island: Choreographer North Buncombe High School Choreographed and staged dance numbers as guest choreographer in North Buncombe High Schools production of Once on this Island.
