Topic: Risk Taking

Focus: Introduction and Risk Taking Learning Objective/s: Fitness training principles, including intensity, duration, frequency, overload, specificity, individuality, diminishing returns, variety, reversibility, maintenance and detraining. Fitness training to improve aerobic capacity, anaerobic capacity, muscular strength and endurance, speed, flexibility and power.

Students examine perceptions of challenge, risk and safety in a variety of settings such as in the home, school, the workplace and the community. They contrast risks that promote personal and social growth with those that endanger health. They discuss ways to balance risk and safety, and refine and evaluate harm-minimisation strategies.

Assessment criteria
Active participation in the activities and discussions taken place in throughout the lesson.

Evidence
Students communication with the teacher and intensity of participation levels during activity. Students trying at the best of their ability to undertake the activities in a safe and correct manner Class role.

Attendance and consistent concentration throughout the class.

Student Programs Whiteboard plus markers Year 9 workbooks. Drug pre tests.

Stage 1 Introduction 0-10 mins

Tasks
Introduce self and class. Introduction game. Take outside for 5 minute game. Bring back inside for my own 2 truths and 1 lie. 1. 2. 3. I have a cousin who plays AFL I used to sing in a band I was a state level Rower.

Circle game.

Stage 2 Body 10-30 mins

Risk Taking. 5 minute Think Pair Share about Risk taking. Relate to the camp they have just completed. Brainstorm with partner and give ideas on the board.

Students to put name on sheets and complete program whilst correctly filling out the program.

Stage 3. Workbook time. Stage 4. Hand over

Students to complete set questions with 5 minutes to go through. Miss Denholm To run through the last 5 minutes of class.

Have students read through task and answers questions.
