scraps of felt - 6 different colours large chenille needle beads sequins 1 x small bell

4mm plastic tubing or plastic drinking straws


No. 8 perle thread hobby fill 2m black thread felt tipped pen scissors
cut out Trace the design of the butterfly onto the felt using the black felt tipped pen and cut out. Cut out two of each colour.

fill Sew the edges of the wings together using running stitch or blanket stitch but leave a 3cm opening to push the stuffing through. Stuff wings with hobby fill and finish by sewing the last 3cm together. sew Attach the front and back of the butterfly together with a 4cm length of plastic tube under the body section and sew down both sides of this to secure. Sew the eyes on, using two small beads. Decorate the wings with sequins. Tie the bell to one end of the black thread, thread on 3 beads tying a knot between each bead. Thread on one butterfly. Repeat adding beads and butterflies and finish by tying a loop at the top of the thread; cut off any excess thread.
