Pathways to Employment: Your Ticket to Success

Tools for Successful Outcomes

Learning Objectives:

1. Gain a working knowledge of the Ticket to Work Program, including its payment system
and the responsibilities of an Employment Network, so that you can determine how
Ticket may best be used by your agency;
2. Understand how income from employment impacts continued eligibility for Social
Security Disability Insurance, Supplemental Security Income, Medicare and Medicaid and
where a Medicaid Buy-In Program fits in;
3. Obtain a “conversational knowledge” of these Social Security Administration work
incentives so that you can have important discussions with beneficiaries on the impact of
employment on benefits and make appropriate referrals to the SSA-funded WIPA
Projects;
4. Get a clear understanding of all of the SSA-funded supports and resources available,
including WIPA, PABSS, AWIC and WILs, so that you may utilize these support
personnel to obtain better, sustained employment outcomes for the SSA beneficiaries that
you serve.
