Energy Project Proposal Form

Name of Proposer ___Jacob Fogel________________________ Overarching Goals (group thesis statement): To create a cheap, reliable, and efficient energy plan, with many different sources, so were able to supply as much renewable energy as we can in the easiest way possible.

Project-Specific Goals: What needs will be met by this project? Producing energy and transporting it to where it is needed. Trying to be as less expensive as possible but make it up throughout the years.

Briefly describe your project: Make/build wind turbines in the northeastern area just below Sisseton, by Lake Traverse.

Project Location: State: South Dakota County: Roberts Region: Northeast (Glacial Lakes) City/Town: Sisseton Area

Why have you chosen this location? It has a great potential wind energy source.

How will this project benefit the entire state? It will get energy from the turbines and give energy to the transmission line and transport more energy and save money for companies and make the cost of energy not necessarily rise but maybe lower.

Estimated Costs and Benefits: What are the estimated costs of this project? What are the estimated benefits of this project?

Estimated initial investment (construction, land usage...): About $4 million per turbine, Thats 3 for the turbine itself and a half for the installation and then the rest goes to the building. About 20 and that would be a total of $80 million. Estimated annual project maintenance costs: $60,000 per year for the land.

Project revenue (including estimated date of returned investment or self-sustainability): 11/11/2013 Energy consumption needs met: Over 4,000,000 kWh each year

Other non-monetary benefits: More jobs for unemployed people in Northeastern Areas.

Law of Conservation of Energy is the energy that is never created, nor destroyed. Most of the time it is often lost in heat and light. When it is lost it escapes through a light bulb or heat from a heater. Proposal: We plan to build 20 wind turbines just south of Sisseton; by Lake Traverse. This will cost a whopping $80 million. It will at least get 4,000,000 kWh of energy per year, another great benefit from this happening, is there are going to be more jobs for the unemployed in the Northeastern Area.
