Letter of Gratitude Wednesday, July 22, 2009 Dear Fellow Citizens, Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Mayor. It has been an honor and privilege to work on behalf of our community’s quality of life for all citizens. After deep contemplation and consultation, I’ve decided to not seek an additional term. Public service is an opportunity and responsibility that should be undertaken by all citizens. This duty is not reserved for only a few. My commitment to serving our community will continue. I pledge my complete support and dedication to the best person who exemplifies the CIA principles. This person should have the: C: Capacity to care for and respect all citizens I: Integrity to honorably lead and represent the best of our community A: Attitude to work as a teammate with the skill to disagree without being disagreeable It is my sincere hope that I’ve represented and served you well. In other words, ‘I hope I’ve done you proud’. Thank you for your trust and support. I look forward to other opportunities to continue serving the public’s needs. Sincerely, Yours in Public Service,
John Jenkins - Auburn Mayor
