    THE OLD TESTAMENT


    • CREATION – man is the pinnacle, and is unique because it is the only creature
    with free will

    • FALL OF MAN – sin (protoevangelium – promise of a saviour)

    • ABRAHAM

    • ISAAC

    • JACOB (renamed “Israel”) and ESAU

    • MOSES – The Ten Commandments and introduction of the Promised Land


    (Canaan)

    • JOSHUA – took over for Moses and led the fall of Jericho

    • JUDGES – helped defend people from their enemies (e.x. Samson and Delilah,
    Deborah, Gideon)

    • KINGS

    • PROPHETS – told people to repent for the coming of the Messiah

    Through the Bible, we will see the covenant relationship of God with man.

    Revelation is in stages:

    1. Creation

    2. Scripture

    3. Words and deeds

    4. Jesus Christ

    5. Church and the Sacraments
