Alanton Elementary is implementing a new program which will serve as an additional safety measure for our students as well as streamline the afternoon dismissal procedure. Beginning Monday, October 14, 2013, parents/guardians who wish to remain in their vehicle while picking up their child through the curbside car line will need to display an AES car tag on their rear-view mirror. Alantons car tag service is available only for those students who are picked up at the regular dismissal time on a daily basis by a parent, guardian, or authorized adult. Any adult who does not have a students assigned car tag on their rear view mirror will be required to: park their vehicle and enter the school be prepared to show a photo ID to the security assistant or front office personnel if requested sign the student out and wait for him/her in the main lobby We regret any inconvenience this might cause, but due to the fact that this policy directly affects the safety of our students, no exceptions will be made. Parents/guardians wishing to participate in this service may obtain their AES car tags in the main office. After completing an AUTHORIZATION FOR DAILY PARENT PICK-UP form for their child(ren) and providing a picture ID, parents/guardians will be issued two (2) identical tags with their child(ren)s assigned number on both. All other adults listed on the form as authorized to pick-up a student must first stop in the main office and provide a picture ID before being allowed to use the car tag. Adults picking-up a child in the car line are to remain in their vehicles at all times. Children awaiting pick-up are to be seated in the cafeteria and quiet throughout the dismissal process. Students who fail to comply may have their car tag privileges revoked, thereafter requiring the adult to pick-up the child from the main lobby on a daily basis. A lost or damaged car tag will be replaced at a cost of $1.50 per tag. If a student is removed from the daily parent pick-up list or withdraws from Alanton Elementary, the parent/guardian is to return the car tags to the main office.

I have read and understand the information regarding Alantons car tag program contained on this sheet. I agree to abide by the policy as outlined here and will review the behavioral expectations with my child(ren).
