Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate

Women ages 18-45

Swiss Miss is an American brand of cocoa mix powders and chocolate puddings. The instant cocoa mix powder, which creates delicious hot cocoa by just adding water, was developed by Sanna Dairies in Wisconsin.. It was originally served on airlines. In the early 1960s, Sanna Dairies was packing the product under the name Swiss Miss Instant Cocoa Mix and selling it to grocers. Swiss misses were a part of marketing the product early on. Around 1963, costumers could buy genuine Swiss Miss dolls by sending in three dollars and a box top to the company.

BIG IDEA

Instead of having the cardboard box with individual cocoa packets, I will be redesigning the package to be in a tin can. Being in a can allows the consumer to scoop out however much cocoa mix they want for their drink, so they arent limited to the small packages. As for the look and feel of the new design, I will be giving it a warm, cabin-like feel to promote drinking hot chocolate when the weather is cool. By using Swiss Misss original logo, it will add a vintage feel to the overall design. I plan on advertising my new redesigned product through an ad for a womens home magazine to attract the target audience. This will inscrease sales because when the women (especially mothers) see the ad, they will remember to buy Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa for their families as the weather cools down. Drinking hot cocoa is a great bonding experience during the winter months for families and friends.

Fengardo Neue Black Within the logo, the packaging should use the Delicious Roman and Fengardo Neue Black in all caps for the Fengardo Neue Delicious Roman Delicious Bold 02

subheadings. On the rest of the packaging, headings should use Fengardo Neue Black in all caps at size 16pt. and for body copy, Delicious Roman at size 9-11 pts. Any nutrition labels and ingredients should use Fengardo Neue in all caps.

The color logo will be used in nearly all forms of printing for this package redesign. The black and white logo should only be used when necessary; for example in B&W Print, Fax, etc. The placement of logos should be no less than 1/4 in and no more than 1/2in on all four sides of the logo as displayed in the attached package design and product images.
