BERTIE MARSHALL BOULEVARD INAUGURAL CEREMONY

The Honourable Dr. Surujrattan Rambachan, Minister of Works and Infrastructure, invites all Media to the Inaugural Ceremony for the Bertie Marshall Boulevard which will take place on Thursday October 17, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at the corner of Erica Street and Old St. Joseph Road, Success Village Laventille. This ceremony will formally mark the renaming of the Old St. Joseph Road to the Bertie Marshall Boulevard. Marshall (February 6, 1936 - October 17, 2012), who was an icon in the cultural arena, was a
steelpan pioneer and innovator: recipient of the Chaconia Medal (Gold) in 1992 and the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (ORTT) in 2008.

This event is being hosted in collaboration with the Highlanders Steel Orchestra of Success Village Laventille. The culmination of the ceremony will be an unveiling of the Bertie Marshall Boulevard Street sign at the Erica Street corner.
