Experience
2007-Present Exceptional Childrens Teacher-Public Schools of Robeson County (St. Pauls High 2007-2008, Red Springs Middle- present) Provide specialized instruction for students with mild to moderate disabilities using and/or modifying the general curriculum to meet the childs individual needs. Developed Individualized Education Plans (IEP), functional behavioral assessment, behavior intervention plans which are tailored to the students individual needs. Create and maintain student confidential record. Collaborated with high school EC chairperson regarding transition for 8th grade students. 2006-2007 Behavior Liaison for Exceptional Children, Public Schools of Robeson County Met with IEP teams to develop functional behavioral assessments/ behavioral intervention plans according to EC guidelines. Conducted observations of students to assess the impact of behaviors in the learning environment. Provided input and assistance with multi-disciplinary teams meetings regarding placement and/or services. Coordinated the Positive Behavior Intervention Support program within the school system including coordinating trainings, data management, program evaluation, PBIS trainer process, provide support and technical assistance, complete annual self assessment and competency requirements.

2003-2007

Teen Tobacco Prevention Coordinator, Public Schools of Robeson County Planned and implemented awareness campaigns, as it relates to youth/adults within the schools and community. Assisted, coordinated and developed programs and activities with local coalitions and partners. Developed and promoted prevention initiatives using local media. Maintained documentation required by the grant including: budget reports, utilizing the monthly progress tracking system, account for expenditures, evaluation of advisors/students, maintain record of activities from 19 schools sites, and summarize unintended outcomes and their implications. Assisted with the planning and implementation of Teen Summit and Project Graduation. Organized the Tobacco Prevention portion of Teen Summit. Conducted presentations and workshops for students and staff members for PSRC. Coordinated trainings for students and staff. Served on various committees within the PSRC.

2001.2003Exceptional Children Teacher, Hoke County Schools E.C. teacher at West Hoke Middle teaching EMD, BED, and LD students. Developed and implemented Individual Educational Plans (IEP) and behavioral contracts for students. Provided Homebound services for EC students. Conducted IEP meetings with parents, teachers, administrators and community agencies to develop the yearly plan for the students. Assigned the role as the C.A.R.E. after school teacher for low academic students along with conducting sessions on conflict resolution and social skills. 1998-2001 Case Manager/Habilitation Specialist II, Southeastern Regional Mental Health/Developmental Disability and Substance Abuse Provided case management services for a caseload of adults with mental retardation/ developmental disabilities. Developed CAP-MR plans and person centered treatment plans. Conducted site visits to monitor residential services, vocational services, medical services, and assured clients rights were met. Duties included: assessing, intake, providing education, linking/coordinating intra-agency resources, consulting other agencies, documenting progress, monitored goals, and coordinating and instructed staff for the benefit of the consumer. Established and maintained rapport with consumers, families, and community agencies.

January 2012-August 2013- Administrative Internship-Assist with assigned tasks from administration involving interviewing potential candidates for the school, assist with data analysis, aid with disciplinary procedures, developing book study, coordinating workshops, assisting with Reading Across America, coordinate, develop and monitored staff development. January 2012-SACS-CASI ~Standard Five Chairperson-Lead school based team gathering information on standard 5 (Resource and Support Systems) at Red Springs Middle. Presented Information to SACS Quality Assurance Review Team. 2012- Co-Chair Book Study~ Co-Chaired with Book Study Never Work Harder Than Your Students by Robyn Jackson, Ph.D. Facilitated meetings, team building assessments/strategies, organized the Kick-off and presentations on the 7 principles. March 2012-Present~NCAE representative 2009-2010 ~Red Spring Middle Cheerleading coach 2010-Present~ PBIS Co-Chair person/facilitator-Assisted with the implementation of the program at the school, attended PBIS meetings and training, facilitated team meetings, assisted teams with using and understanding data, assisted with completion of School Evaluation Tool, assisted with school action plan/SIT Plan. 2010-2012~Red Springs Middle (Advisory Committee member) 2012-2013 Beautification Committee Chairperson~ Review and recommend the aesthetic enhancement changes and seek ways to make Red Springs Middle a more conducive environment for school and community.
