We need to practice more calculating!

Remember i. Write down the formula you are going to use ii. Put the numbers into the formula (using the correct units) iii. Be CAREFUL mathematicians!

For the following questions you will need the following formulae Average speed = distance time s =d t Acceleration = change in speed time a=vu t

1. Iga runs at a speed of 13 m/s for a time of 120 seconds. How far does she run? 2. Eloises Ferrari goes from 0 to 50 m/s in 3 seconds. What is its acceleration? 3. Maria F drops a small dog from a tall building. It takes 5 seconds to hit the ground and the acceleration due to gravity is 10 m/s2. How fast was the dog moving when it hit the ground (assume no air resistance)? 4. Pierre drives his Skoda at a speed of 15 m/s and he drives a distance of 15 km. How long does the journey take? 5. Jacek is flying an SR-71 Blackbird at a speed of 3668 km/h. If he flies for 2 hours, how far does he fly? 6. Julias jet-ski accelerates from 10 m/s to 25 m/s in a time of 2.5 seconds. What is its acceleration? 7. Albert and Michael drop a coin from the top of the Eiffel tower. It takes 8 seconds to hit the ground. How high is the Eiffel tower? (Assume no air resistance) 8. Patrick is shopping in Marks and Spencer. Her walks a distance of 567 metres in 21 minutes. What was his average speed in m/s? 9. Now write 4 questions of your own (and answer them) using the formulae above.
