RED RIBBON WEEK

OCTOBER 28th-NOVEMBER 1st

Your Choices Are the Key to Your Dreams

Dear Parents and Teachers, We are celebrating Red Ribbon Week during the week of October 28th-November 1st. Red Ribbon is a time when we practice making safe, drug-free choices. During the month of October, during counseling class, I will focus on helping students make good choices and identify safe, positive ways to keep our minds and bodies healthy. Our theme this year is Your Choices Are the Key to Your Dreams. All students will receive motivational items like pencils, stickers, and bookmarks that printed with a variety of Red Ribbon Week slogans. The students will also participate in dress-up days (listed below). Thank you for taking some extra time to remind your student how important safe, healthy choices are to their future. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Trisa Redington, Gratz Brown Elementary Counselor

Did you know?

Red Ribbon Week was started when drug traffickers in Mexico City murdered DEA agent Kiki Camarena in 1985. This began the continuing tradition of displaying Red Ribbons as a symbol of intolerance towards the use of drugs and a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a DRUG-FREE AMERICA.
