The Business School

The Chester Business School is part of the Faculty of Business, Enterprise and Lifelong Learning at the University of Chester. The Business School is located predominantly in the Westminster Building on the Chester Campus, and also in the modern Tucker Building on the Warrington Campus. Students benet from historical and vibrant city surroundings and good communication links with the wider area. The City of Chester is a rapidly developing Business centre, attracting both national and international companies. There is a growing research degree environment within the Business School that benets from esteemed staff with extensive research backgrounds. The Chester Business School has strong research expertise available to students. Staff are published in many areas, including corporate and social responsibility, political marketing, business and government interfaces, leadership and leadership within organizations, management

and innovation, learning, performance management entrepreneurship, and public affairs. Much of the Schools research is applied in a practical context, and it is committed to building and enhancing sustainable relationships with business and external organisations. Research interests of staff include: Manager Identity and Identity Formation (through formal and informal learning processes, power, politics, conict and control in management practice and manager learning, participation, involvement and the myths of empowerment); Performance management; Organization Culture; Human Resource Strategy; and Strategic management. The University of Chester welcomes students to undertake research towards MPhil or PhD awards.
